Biography
Zolotov Evgene Alexandrovich
Zolotov was born on January 18, 1925
in the village of Michaelova Side
of Suzdal region in Vladimir district.
In 1940-1941 Zolotov studied at Art College
in Mstera, but when the Great Patriotic War
began it was closed and he worked
at the kolkhoz in the village of Glebovskoye
of Suzdal region in Vladimir district.
On January 18, 1943 the painter conscripted
into the army. From January till August
of 1943 he did military service
in the 7-th reserve rifle regiment in Gorky.
In August of 1943 Zolotov was sent
to the front line.
He fought as infantryman in the 15-th rifle
regiment of the 27-th army (it was considered
the 15-th rifle regiment from August of 1943
till May of 1943), took part in forcing
of the Dnepr river. Getting missile wound
of the right forearm in the actions near
the town White Church, Zolotov was hospitalized
(military post N 53537) and stayed in the army
ambulance from the 20-th May of 1943 till
the 22-nd May of 1944. He fought in Poland
and met the ending of the war in Germany
near Breslau.
After the end of the Great Patriotic War Zolotov
continued military service at Czechoslovakia
and Austria. Also he did military service
in garrison hospital 4532 from May of 1947
till April of 1949.
In May of 1947 he was demobilized.
From 1949 till 1951 Zolotov studied at the art
studio of the Vladimir House of amateur and folk
arts under the direction of Professor
Sychev Nikolay Petrovich.
On November 24, 1949 Zolotov was accepted
for employment as artist in the association
"The Vladimir artist" later renamed
"Vladimir artistic producing studios",
where he acted as portrait painter till
December of 1987.
In 1967, 1980, 1982, 1989 the painter was sent
to a business trip to Repin House of creation
"Academy dacha" by the government
of the Vladimir Union of artists.
In 1987 Zolotov became a member
of the Union of artists of the USSR.
Since 1953 the artist took part
in many art exhibitions.
Repeatedly the regional bodies and the regional
department of culture bought in lots of Zolotov's
pictures from art exhibitions.
Many of the paintings were sold
by trade exhibition in Vladimir
and Moscow.
